The Apollo Discovery Multisensor Detector (58000-700APO) comprises optical smoke and thermistor temperature sensors which give both a combined signal as well as a separate heat signal for improved false alarm management.
The Discovery Optical/Heat Multisensor Detector combines heat and smoke detection with five selectable response modes, offering flexibility for various applications.
Mode 1: High sensitivity to both smoke and heat, ideal for flaming and smouldering fires.
Mode 2: Similar to a standard optical smoke detector, suitable for environments with normal temperature changes.
Mode 3: Moderate sensitivity to both smoke and heat, optimal for general applications.
Mode 4: Lower smoke sensitivity combined with high heat sensitivity, suitable for environments with expected fumes or smoke.
Mode 5: No smoke sensitivity, pure heat detection with a fixed temperature alarm threshold of 58°C, meeting Class A1R detector requirements.
The detector processes heat and smoke signals independently, with modes 1, 3, and 4 combining both. In modes 2 and 5, it focuses on smoke or heat detection. In modes 1, 3, and 4, temperature signal processing detects only rate-of-rise information, ignoring slow temperature increases.
The detector is connected to a two-wire loop circuit with a 17V to 28V DC supply, and a remote LED indicator can be added.
