The Apollo XP95 range of devices can be used with any addressable system using Apollo protocol. The Apollo 55000-400 Heat Detector monitors temperature using a single thermistor which provides an output proportional to the external air temperature. The Apollo 55000-400APO standard heat detector is classified as an A2S device and will report an alarm at 55°C.
Operation
The XP95 Heat Detector shares a common profile with XP95 optical smoke detectors but features a low air-flow resistance case made of white polycarbonate. It detects heat via a single thermistor network that outputs a voltage proportional to the external air temperature.
Electrical Description
Designed for a two-wire loop carrying data and a 17–28V DC supply, the detector connects via L1 and L2 terminals. A remote LED (max 4 mA at 5V) can be wired to +R and -R terminals. An earth terminal is provided.
The detector is calibrated to 25±5 counts at 5°C, increasing with temperature. A count of 55 triggers an alarm per EN 54 sensitivity standards. When powered, the ASIC manages power, processes data, and transmits temperature readings. If the count exceeds 55, the alarm flag activates, and the device address is added to the data stream every 32 polling cycles, ensuring an alarm is identified within two seconds.
Environmental Characteristics
Unaffected by wind or atmospheric pressure, the detector operates between -20°C and +70°C.
Compliance
The XP95 Heat Detector meets EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and Construction Products Regulation 305/2011/EU requirements when used as specified. Declarations of Conformity and Performance are available from Apollo upon request.
